La Golondrina, meaning “the Swallow” in Spanish, is a nature lovers sanctuary blessed with flower scented air, lush foliage and dreamy corners for rest and relaxation. From its hillside location above Jávea Old Town it’s hard to imagine that a hideaway this beautiful and tranquil is only a ten-minute stroll away from the boutiques, cafes, tapas bars, and bustling markets of the historic town centre. All just perfect for exploring on foot!

What we love…the Aladdin’s Cave feel of the place, reflecting a bohemian, barefoot travellers’ ethos. The interior walls are awash with jewel coloured paint, brightly framed artwork and interesting artefacts collected by the owner during her travels around the World. Brimming bookshelves pay tribute to an eclectic array of authors and poets, and a comfy sofa area in the lounge provides the perfect spot to read or to sit and chat with fellow guests.

Conveniently laid out over one floor, the rooms are spacious, luxurious and cosy all at the same time. The family bathroom is exquisitely decorated with Arabesque mosaic wall tiles (a nod to the Alhambra of Granada) making it the perfect setting for a candle lit bath-time, complete with elegant drinks stand, pretty, light reflecting glass ornaments and Indian wood mirror. Not to be overlooked is the master en-suite, offering a very impressive walk-in shower, iridescent mosaic tiles and a fossil incrusted stone washbasin. Or, the adjoining bedroom with its carved wood headboard, relaxing colour scheme and private access to the poolside terrace.

Able to sleep up to 6 guests, La Golondrina is the perfect family getaway or the ideal spot for a romantic stay, complete with private pool, cool shaded terraces, meandering garden paths and dreamy views of the gardens. You’ll feel a world away, while being in the heart of it all!

JH Tip: La Golondrina is located just opposite Villa Levante and only 100 mts from Casa Alba. If you're coming with family, booking two or all of them could be a good option!

This rule does not apply to families travelling with children or younger persons when accompanied by adults who are also staying in the property.
